Ignoring it makes the problem worse and can score the track. Replacing the rollers and cleaning the track usually restores smooth operation.
• Warped or brittle vinyl sashes on 6700 series double hungs. Ventura’s inland heat is harder on vinyl than most homeowners expect. Repeated hot-afternoon sun on west-facing windows can warp the 6700’s sash corners enough that the meeting rail no longer seals. You’ll feel a draft even with the lock engaged. • Horizontal roller windows that stick or jump the track. The 2500 series vinyl horizontal roller is a simple window, but its rollers sit low and collect debris.
